HANNAH Training Seminars

To directly impact educators and multipliers, the HANNAH project includes a training program targeting schoolteachers, librarians, and archivists. In 16 workshops – 4 in each partner country – 25 participants each are trained in face-to-face workshops.

The comprehensive training program has been developed by the HANNAH project consortium under the coordination of the Jewish Museum of Greece, aimed to inform, educate and raise awareness about the long history of the Jewish communities in Germany, Greece, Serbia, and Poland, their different fates during WWII and the Holocaust and the rehabilitation period that followed, right through to today, to reinforce knowledge and remembrance. Lessons from the Holocaust are used to discuss racism and antisemitism then and now, in order to inspire active and democratic citizenship, and to encourage the values of social equality, justice and human rights.

Goals of the education program

With our educational program we aim to increase knowledge and awareness regarding antisemitism among the general population and, in particular, schoolteachers, librarians, archivists, young people and policy makers. With our education program, we aim to promote a better understanding of Jewish history and the contribution of Jewish people in Dresden, Hamburg, Athens, Novi Sad and Krakow before and after the Shoah. We also aim to prevent the perpetual dissemination of antisemitic myths.
